Lymphatic System
We all know that our lymphatic system is critically important, as it rids the body of toxins and helps us to fight infections. However, unlike other systems in the body, the lymphatic system does not have a pump. It relies solely on your body’s movement to pump white blood cells (leukocytes) through the body. Every time we flex a muscle, take a breath, or move against gravity we are moving lymph throughout our body.
One of My Favorite Ways to Get My Lymph Pumping
Remember when you were young and spent all day on a trampoline? I sure do! Turns out, not only was this super fun but it was a great way to spark our immune system.
Unfortunately, it may be a little overboard to put a huge trampoline in your home, but if you want to try to make it fit I support you!
Luckily, you can get a much smaller rebounder trampoline. All rebounders are not created equal (I found this out the hard way). I really like my Bellicon Rebounder.
How to Squeeze Rebounding Into Your Daily Routine
Put it in front of the TV & commit to jumping over commercial breaks-or if you’re a real badass-jump for that entire episode of Big Bang Theory!
Throw on your power playlist and jump to your favorite song!
Do like my mom does & put a rebounder in your office. Set an alarm that reminds you to jump for 5 mins, every 2 hours!
Tote it to the beach, the park, or your favorite outdoor space and jump while enjoying nature!
The important thing to keep in mind when rebounding is to listen to your body. Just like with any exercise, make sure you talk with your doctor before beginning any new exercise routine.
Happy jumping!
